my kitchen faucet has lost lot of pressure all of a sudden. I did clean the aerator twice...no luck. And do not have a side spray. the faucet is the kind that you push a button to make it spray also. the problem is with both hot and cold water. incidentally

Freitas called TBL, exasperated and outraged, recently when she discovered a leak under the kitchen sink after an energy audit by Home Energy Solutions-Income Eligible, a program supported by the utilities-backed Connecticut Energy Efficiency Fund and managed in the area by the Community Renewal Team of Hartford.

As part of the full workup — duct sealing, additional insulation and energy-efficient bulbs — the contractor replaced the aerator on the kitchen sink.

Freitas, who lives with her daughter, Eleanor, and notes proudly that "we're both seniors," soon discovered a leak under the sink. She called the program.

"They said they'd come back and they never did," she says. "One of them did come back and I was very upset. I told him what I thought. They didn't believe that the water was leaking before."

TBL contacted Connecticut Light & Power, which checked on it that same day.

"The issue goes back to March 8," says CL&P spokesman Mitch Gross, "when Mrs. Freitas first reported the problem. At that time, it was determined that the leak was not from the faucet but from a water pipe. The customer reportedly scheduled a plumber to correct the problem."
